Nodular fascitis, benign tumorAbstract
Nodular fasciitis is a fast-growing benign lesion that can be mistaken for cancer, due to its clinical and image characteristics, this is why it is important for clinicians to know about it., as to avoid unnecessary surgery and interventions. A case of a male patient with a palpable mass in his left breast is presented. The radiological exams classified the lesion as BIRADS 4A. The core needle biopsy reported a proliferation of spindled cells, and the immunostaining reported an expression for smooth muscle actin and desmin, findings compatible with nodular fasciitis. Conservative treatment was preferred.
