Abstract

A case of hyperinfection with Strongyloides stercoralis is presented. A 43 years old costarican patient, in treatment of discal hernia with esteroids, non-esteroidal anti-inflamatories and anti-histaminics, who develops a hyperinfection syndrome by Strongyloides stercolaris at gastric and intestinal level, associated with gram negative bacilli bacteremia and systemic compromise, resolving later with intensive and multidisciplinary therapy.
