Fetal alloimmune thrombocytopenia is a potentially dangerous condition, which may lead to intracranial hemorrhage in the fetus or newborn. In the absence of screening programs, preventive measures are possible only in subsequent pregnancies of women with a child affected by such condition. There is controversy about the best intervention to reduce the risk of intracranial hemorrhage. Prenatal immunoglobulin and steroids treatment is currently recommended. The use of serial cordocentesis is not recommended. There are neither guidelines on how to treat a primigravida with this condition, such as the case presented here in, nor publications of similar cases.
